YouTube had recently contacted me and everything seemed to be fine. I've been involved in commerically licensed webcasting for a few years and made sure artists were fairly paid for my licensed use of their work online. It was hell, but many of us helped establish the current rates (through the Library of Congress's Copyright Arbitration Royalty Panel) for use of licensed music online. I suspect many YouTube users will help the industry do the same thing for video content in the very near future. I don't know how I'm the top link for this story.
