I peaked out the peep hole not knowing who would be ringing the doorbell this early. It was a little girl on a bicycle with a bag in her hand.
“Here’s your cookie dough,” She said handing me the bag. I vaguely remember Vince telling me he had bought it as part of some school fundraiser.
Vince made these cookies for the Christmas party. An hour earlier we weren’t sure we were going. I had called Mike with regrets. Noah was staying with us through Monday while they work on the vocals for his new album. I didn’t want to impose, but Mike was very kind and said to bring him along. So we did.

I buy Christmas cards every year. There is something magical about getting a card in the mail, and it’s easy to do. So why the cards end up in a growing collection of cards that are never sent keeps me staring blankly into the foggy mirror of life.
Anyways, I tried to get a few out this year. Some made it, and some didn’t. Merry Christmas.

I had the kosher weinerburger for lunch, and then swung by CMT with the Brad to catch up with his good friend John Rich of Big & Rich. John has a reality TV show coming up on CMT called Gone Country. In it, a few stars come to Nashville to try their hand at a career in country music.
Here is some video I shot where John talks about Bobby Brown urinating on Dee Snider. He also shows us his #1 selling t-shirt with a phrase his grandfather use to say.

I’m a very bad daddy. Last night, while I was holding Trudy in the bathroom, she wiggled a bit, and I dropped her. We have solid concrete floors, so she literally went splat on the floor! Both Vince and I were stunned. She started yelping and hollering, and I immediately held her in place comforting her thinking we were about to have to go to the vet.
Vince scolded me good. Luckily, she quieted down and then started running around again. We watched her for a bit after that, and it was as though it never happened.

I rode with Brad over to the Wild Horse Saloon to meet up with Gunnar Nelson. His new band is playing a show at the Wild Horse December 15. Here’s some video I shot. Gunnar talks about one of the things he likes about living and working in Nashville as a musician. You can see Brad’s full interview on his blog.
Scrap Metal is a celebrity rock supergroup whose members collectively have sold over 50 million records worldwide. Scrap Metal was created by Gunnar Nelson, who with twin brother Matthew Nelson was half of the hit 90s group Nelson, and Mark Slaughter of 80s rock group Slaughter. Kelly Keagy from Night Ranger helps to round out Scrap Metal’s core group, along with Eric Martin of Mr. Big who brings his trademark powerhouse pipes to the band.

I’m still getting used to this Sanyo HD Xacti video camera. I’m not yet sure if I like it or not.

Brad Schmitt said something about lunch, so I rode along with him to the Music Row Celebrity Chili Throw Down. Here is some video I shot. Brad was catching up with some of his celebrity friends for a segment in tonight’s newscast. Listen to him work his magic. Can you feel the love?
Lorrie Morgan’s chili was a hit. Want to know what it’s called? The Five Husband Chili. It was hot. Chefs Brad Cotter, Rachel Williams, Woody Bradshaw, Lorrie Morgan, Jett Williams, Darryl Singletary, and others took part. The event benefited The Murrell School in Nashville.

Ms. Mimi took a bath last night. Potty training has its ups and downs. Yesterday when we came home there must have been about 4 pee puddles and 3 poopies on the bathroom floor. In our presence, and with attentive commands and rewards, they do use the litter box. As we stay with them, they also use the litter box on their own.
We’re considering reducing their space in the bathroom at night to encourage more involuntary use of the litter box. We’re both nervous and eager for any advice.
