Over the past week, you might have noticed me testing live streaming through ustream (or click the LIVE! tab above). The past couple of days I did some testing from work within Studio A at the mighty Deuce (News2 WKRN-TV).

I got a few thumbs up from some local folks on Twitter that the audio and video came through loud and clear. Awesome!

It took me a while to figure a few things out. Right now, I’m using this Logitech QuickCam Orbit with Adobe Flash Media Encoder. There are a lot more interactive components that can be included in the stream that I’ll figure out along the way.

I’ve talked to the boss about going live online from the newsroom with this, and he loves the idea. He even had a few ideas of his own. Tomorrow, we’re taking the idea upstairs. Stay tuned.
