a house for bats
Vince and I got this cedar bat house at Lowes in Murfreesboro.
We counted about 6 bird nests around the yard over the Great Staycation of ‘09. We got so tickled seeing blue birds check out the new blue bird house we bought from Martin’s that we figured we’d try to raise some bats.
The paper that came with this bat house said to put it on the south side of your house away from tree lines so the box gets about 7 hours of morning sunlight. It also said it has to average about 95 degrees. That sounds pretty hot. If I were a bat I would find me a cool cave, but if that’s what the box says, that’s what we’ll do.
I guess I’ll look them up on the Google or the Wikipedia, but if you have any advice on keeping bats on your property, would you give me a shout? I’ll let you know how this works out, but I’m more concerned it’s going to turn into a bee hive.

So, how does it went out?
