A teacher in Springfield, TN uses drywall for a chalkboard and needs our help
Yes, you read that right, and this teacher needs our help to purchase a reversible mobile easel. The teacher is $298 away from meeting her funding request, and every penny you give will be matched by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Here’s more from Mrs. P:
I teach AP Language and Composition, Advanced English II, and Senior English in a high school located in a poverty-stricken area of Tennessee.
At the moment, I have bathroom facing (that at one time had a sheen) nailed to what use to be chalk boards. My students love to visually see what I refer to but my approach to teaching has not worked well due to the lack of resources on hand.
I need a portable White board with the necessary components in order to teach to low-income students who are striving to take advanced classes. Students are driven to learn when a visual aid is used. I need to empower them and keep them thinking by letting them “see: what I am teaching.
This project has $298 to go, and I need your help spreading the word about the teacher’s very special request: CLICK HERE TO GIVE NOW, and share the link with your FaceBook friends.
Your $10 or $20 contribution to this project can go a long way toward making a positive and direct impact on students of this classroom. Everyday this week, I’m featuring the needs of one of five teachers in high poverty school systems where you and I can make a powerful difference.
MONDAY: you stepped up and completed the funding request of Mrs. Gregory at Smith County High School, and her new document camera is now being shipped.
TUESDAY: you fulfilled the funding request of a teacher in Clinton, TN and even got a local TV station to interview her about it. Now books will be shipped to her classroom.
