We’re getting married
This Valentine’s Day, Vince and I will have been together for 10 years, and a lot has changed in that time. One thing that hasn’t is our deep love for one another, so this April we’re celebrating by getting married.
There won’t be a ceremony. We already did that in April of 2002.This time it will be a planned trip to either Iowa, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Vermont, or Massachusetts just to get the ball rolling toward legally protecting and celebrating our long term commitment and values.
We’ve got a lot of hoops to jump through, and that will require a lot more careful consideration than most people are used to. Over the next couple of months or so I’ll share what we learn along the way. If you have suggestions on which state we should choose, let us know.

Wow, ten years! That is awesome. All the best to you guys.
Aww, congrats! I’ll be interested in hearing what the process is like for you over the next few months. So happy for you guys.
That’s great news, Christian! I’m so happy for you both.
Here’s hoping the process goes smoothly for you. It’s not fair that you should have to jump through extra hoops.
Thanks for the congrats, y’all
It took us 8 years to make it more official, but 8 years ago things were a little different. We’re looking forward to the trip.
Congratulations Christian and Vince!!! I was fortunate to have been at your ceremony in 2002. Best to you both now and always!
Congrats. If you go to Vermont, say hello to Larry, his brother Darryl, and his other brother Darryl.
How wonderful!!! I am so very happy for you both. Congratulations!

Congratulations, Christian.
Mazel tov, first of all! You don’t know me, but Vincent and I go waaaaaay back to junior high. We only knew each other briefly, but he made a huge impression on me, and I never forgot him. So happy to have reconnected with him after all these years, and I’m even happier that he has found someone that truly makes him happy!
Second of all, I vote that you come to Massachusetts for two reasons. One, WE did it first - MA was the first state to allow gay marriage, I am very proud to say, so that would make it even more symbolic. Second, I live in MA, and would absolutely love to be there! There are many other reasons to have it here - beautiful coastline/islands, beautiful mountains, ie so many settings to choose from. Bottom line, MA ROCKS!
