War On Christmas
December 17, 2006

Flipping through the channels this afternoon... this message from the Fox News Channel reminded me to get my holiday cards, or "Christmas cards" as I like to call them, in the mail tomorrow.

'Fag Army'
July 06, 2006
Thus sayeth America's religious fanatics:
"God Almighty is killing the youth of this country. Anybody who would voluntarily join this fag army that represents this country is just asking to get themselves killed. And anybody who says that they worship God should have nothing to do with these military funerals."

God Hates America
July 06, 2006
America's ultra-right hates America. They protest the funerals of America's soldiers who gave their life to their country.
"From her stars and stripes, to her children, to her military, to her tyranical bloody President, to her feces-loving Supreme Court, to her legislatures, to her schools, to her preachers: God Hates them."

Warren Jeffs and Biblical Marriage
May 07, 2006
Polygamist child molester Warren Jeffs believes that having many wives, no matter how young they are, has been God's vision of marriage for over 5,000 years.
Jeffs is wanted in Arizona on criminal charges of sexual conduct with a minor. He also was charged in Utah with rape as an accomplice. He is accused of arranging marriages between underage girls and older men. "We are doing everything we can to track him down," said Tim Fuhrman, special agent in charge of the FBI's Salt Lake City field office. "We just made the determination that this is the next step that we can take as federal, state and local law enforcement agencies, to potentially result in the apprehension of Mr. Jeffs."

Thank God for the law of the land which now protects children from this list of men who escaped the FBI's Most Wanted List because they are in Heavan.

More Troubles For Rep. McKinney (D-GA)
April 13, 2006
The Fraternal Order of Police is not only helping the officer Rep. McKinney assaulted. They are also going after Rep. McKinney's driver who impersonated an officer on camera to a reporter to move him away from the elected official.
Union officials are also looking into the run-in between one of the congresswoman's employees and Channel 2 Action News reporter Scott MacFarlane.
They're looking into the background of the man who claimed on-camera to be a police officer.
The union says he should be prosecuted for impersonating a police officer.
Rep. McKinney's office says the man is her driver, not a police officer.
“We rail against people who use police authority when they don't have it,” says Canterbury.
“It's dangerous for police officers. It's dangerous for the public. Imitating police is not a good thing,” he added.

Mea Culpa
April 06, 2006
What a nice apology. If I woke up this morning and never knew what a moron Rep. McKinney has been over the past few days, I'd have a lot of respect for the Congresswoman. It's really too bad Rep. McKinney doesn't surround herself with the kind of people that finally made her understand how important it was to simply apologize.
"I am sorry that this misunderstanding happened at all and I regret its escalation, and I apologize," McKinney, D-Ga., said during a brief appearance on the House floor. "There should not have been any physical contact in this incident."

Rep. Cynthia McKinney's Thuggish Buffoonery
April 03, 2006
Rep. Cynthia McKinney (D-GA) is definitely no Shirley Chisholm. After allegedly assaulting a Capitol Hill Police Officer, Rep. McKinney feels like a victim of racism and desperately wants partisan support.
At a news conference last Friday, McKinney said, "This whole incident was instigated by the inappropriate touching and stopping of me -- a female, black, progressive congresswoman."
[Probe of Rep. McKinney sent to prosecutors - Rueters - 04-03-06]
Preposterous claims...
She and her lawyers have repeatedly declared that she was a victim of inappropriate touching and racism and said they were considering pursuing civil action against the officer.
[U.S. Attorney Reviewing McKinney Case - Houston Chronicle - 04-03-06]
Rep. McKinney has also been caught inappropriately using tax-payer money allocated for office supplies to fly her friends around the country.
Rep. Cynthia McKinney admits that she broke government rules by spending money to fly a celebrity to Atlanta.
Channel 2 Action News has uncovered documents showing McKinney, D-Ga., spent about $1,000 of taxpayer's money to fly singer Isaac Hayes to Georgia to help dedicate a new office in Atlanta.
[McKinney Admits Misusing Taxpayer Money - WSBTV - 04-03-06]
There must be enough people in Rep. McKinney's district who feel stealing from tax payers and assaulting law enforcement appropriately represents their best interests in the United States Congress. Otherwise, I suspect Rep. McKinney would be acting more like a "female, black, progressive congresswoman" with every opportunity afforded her in the best nation on Earth.

American hostage Tom Fox is dead, and part of Rush Limbaugh really likes this.
Yeah, all right. Now, let's take this at face value just for a moment. This could all be BS. I mean, we've never heard of the Swords of Righteousness Brigade. This could all be a stunt, but let's take it -- well, let's take it both ways. We'll take it face value at first, then we'll look at it as a stunt second. I said at the conclusion of previous hours -- part of me that likes this. And some of you might say, "Rush, that's horrible. Peace activists taken hostage." Well, here's why I like it. 'Ends to the Means' for Religious Fanatics
February 23, 2006
What more can be expected from theocrats and religious fanatics that view democratic rule of law and balance of power as a threat to their spiritual supremacy?
In four separate areas around Baghdad, authorities found the bodies of 40 men shot dead, an interior ministry spokesman said Thursday.
In Baqubah, gunmen in several vehicles killed at least three dozen people in buses who were heading to a protest of the mosque bombing, said Gen. Amir Al-Jubouri, Diyala deputy police chief. The riders, Sunnis and Shiites, were stopped by the gunmen who set up their own checkpoint. Their bodies were found in a creek.
Also in Baqubah, a suicide bomber blew up himself amid a group of Iraqi army soldiers in a public market, killing 9 soldiers and two civilians and wounded 19 others, said Ali Al-Khayyam, a spokesmen for the JCC, the Joint Coordination Center.
In the same city, 20 miles north of Baghdad, a muezzin at a Sunni mosque was killed and two of his bodyguards were wounded Wednesday when four armed men attacked the mosque, eyewitnesses said. The four men, dressed in black and wearing masks, entered the mosque just when preachers were getting ready to hold the morning prayers, said Ali Kadhum, 32, who is one of the two bodyguards wounded in the attack. "When they first came in shooting, we hid in the preachers room," Kadhum said, "then they through hand grenades inside the room."
In Samarra, armed men kidnapped and killed a reporter of al-Arabiya, a Dubai-based news channel, along with two of her crew. Atwar Bahjat, 26, was shot dead in northern Samarra, 60 miles north of Baghdad, the channel reported.
All told, Interior Ministry officials said more than 100 people were killed.
And all told, the Muslim Scholars Association in Iraq said 168 Sunni mosques were attacked in the last 24 hours.

More theocratic thuggery...
Christian youths burned the corpses of Muslims on Thursday on the streets of Onitsha in southeastern Nigeria, the city worst hit by religious riots that have killed at least 146 people across the country in five days.
Christian mobs, seeking revenge for the killings of Christians in the north, attacked Muslims with machetes, set fire to them, destroyed their houses and torched mosques in two days of violence in Onitsha, where 93 people died.
"We are very happy that this thing is happening so that the north will learn their lesson," said Anthony Umai, a motorcycle taxi rider, standing close to where Christian youths had piled up the corpses of 10 Muslims and were burning them.

American Family Association Threatens Jews
December 09, 2005
Merry Christmas, Israel!
During the broadcast, Wildmon stated that Anti-Defamation League (ADL) President Abraham H. Foxman "got himself kind of in a bind" by criticizing the religious right. "[T]he strongest supporters Israel has are members of the religious right -- the people he's fighting," Wildmon said. "[T]he more he says that 'you people are destroying this country,' you know, some people are going to begin to get fed up with this and say, 'Well, all right then. If that's the way you feel, then we just won't support Israel anymore.' "

Log Cabin Republicans Join The War On Christmas
December 07, 2005
I was always suspicious of GayPatriot's claim that the leadership of the Log Cabin Republicans (LCR) was in bed with the liberal elites. Then, I visited their website calendar this evening to see what was coming up and saw a special "Holiday Gathering" in Denver, CO on the schedule! It appears that LCR has now joined the President, First Lady, Wal-Mart and the entire liberal secularist War On Christmas.

Bill O'Reilly's Christmas Jihad
December 07, 2005
On December 2, Bill O'Reilly escalated his call for a holy war on secularists and people of other faiths by pledging to "bring horror into the world of people" who do not "get own on their knees and thank Jesus for being born" in the name of Christmas. (via Atrios)
I am not going to let oppressive, totalitarian, anti-Christian forces in this country diminish and denigrate the holiday and the celebration. I am not going to let it happen. I'm gonna use all the power that I have on radio and television to bring horror into the world of people who are trying to do that.

WHPB: 'Praise Santa' Edition
December 07, 2005
When asked why President Bush invoked Santa Clause instead of Jesus in his speech on the meaning of Christmas, White House spokesman Scott McClellan urged us to think of the children as the War on Christmas rages on.
QUESTION: Scott, just one question today. At yesterday's briefing, the transcript records my quoting the President in his saying, "Each year we gather here to celebrate the season of hope and joy and to remember the story of one humble life that lifted the sights of humanity. Santa, thanks for coming." When I asked you WorldNet Daily's question, will the President apologize to Christians offended by his referring to Jesus as Santa, you responded, "The President meant exactly what he said, Les." But last night, I received an email which had your name on it, which said there were two separate -- (laughter.)
MR. McCLELLAN: Keep working on my emails, sending you things.
QUESTION: There were two separate thoughts --
MR. McCLELLAN: Must have been a little -- must have been a little elf. (Laughter.)
QUESTION: Well, wait a minute, let me just tell you what was on the email --
MR. McCLELLAN: Go ahead. I want to give you the stage.
QUESTION: -- which it said, there were --
MR. McCLELLAN: I think I know where you're going with this.
QUESTION: -- two separate thoughts -- after he spoke about the meaning of Christmas, he then recognized Santa. And first of all, I want to ask, was that your email? And was it your final and conclusive answer rather than, the President meant --
MR. McCLELLAN: Well, it was my email. He wasn't, as you phrased it yesterday, comparing the two. Santa was at the event for the children that were there, and I don't think you want to take Santa away from all those children.

When Catholics Attack: War On Christmas
December 07, 2005
Who is Catholic League President William Donohue calling "the worst elements in our culture?" It wouldn't be those faiths among the 1.4 million Americans who received the White House "holiday" card that aren't Christian would it?
This month, as in every December since he took office, President Bush sent out cards with a generic end-of-the-year message, wishing 1.4 million of his close friends and supporters a happy "holiday season."
Many people are thrilled to get a White House Christmas card, no matter what the greeting inside. But some conservative Christians are reacting as if Bush stuck coal in their stockings.
"This clearly demonstrates that the Bush administration has suffered a loss of will and that they have capitulated to the worst elements in our culture," said William A. Donohue, president of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights.
Bush "claims to be a born-again, evangelical Christian. But he sure doesn't act like one," said Joseph Farah, editor of the conservative Web site WorldNetDaily.com. "I threw out my White House card as soon as I got it."

Focus On Wells Fargo
December 06, 2005
Nevermind whether Focus On The Family's new bank gives money to Jews or any other religion that violates the far more egregious Biblical offense of denying Jesus is Lord. About the closest bank they are going to find that meets their selectively pious purity test is James Dobson's mattress.
Focus on the Family is looking for a new bank, saying it's dumping Wells Fargo for its "pro-homosexual agenda."
The Colorado Springs, Colo.-based Christian group told its followers about the move Thursday. Focus on the Family said that a "pivotal reason" the San Francisco-based bank is getting the ax is that its logo was used in a fund-raising campaign for a "fight against the 'anti-gay industry' -- a group that pro-gay organizations have stated includes Focus on the Family."

The War On Christmas
December 01, 2005

The War On Christmas rages on. Check out the full page ad in today's Washington Times from StopTheACLU.
While many retailers — including Kmart, Sears, Target, Wal-Mart and Walgreens — have abolished use of the term “Christmas” at many of their stores, The American Family Association (AFA) reports that Lowe’s has adopted a pro-Christmas ruling. Lowe’s stores will begin advertising “Christmas trees” instead of the previous “holiday trees.” It may sound like an insignificant victory, but I see it as important. There’s simply no need to ban Christmas in America. And if retailers determine that Christmas isn’t for them, then they can expect to lose the support of many Americans.
[Rev. Jerry Falwell - Fawell Confidential - 12-01-05]
There's a very secret plan. And it's a plan that nobody's going to tell you, "Well, we want to diminish Christian philosophy in the U.S.A. because we want X, Y, and Z." They'll never ever say that. But I'm kind of surprised they went after Christmas because it's such an emotional issue.
[Bill O'Reilly - The Radio Factor with Bill O'Reilly - 11-28-05]
VICTORY! It appears that our campaign has been a success. Earlier today FNC changed the “Holiday Tree” on their store to Christmas Tree. We are not going to boycott FOX News, and we are very excited that they have decided to stand with Christmas.
[FOX News Holiday Hypocrisy - StopTheACLU - 11-30-05]
The White House’s 2005 holiday card is just out, and it doesn’t mention the word “Christmas” once. The card, mailed under the auspices of the Republican National Committee and signed by the president and his wife, reads, “With best wishes for a holiday season of hope and happiness 2005.” It also includes a passage from the Old Testament Book of Psalms.

Hastert, R-Ill., in a letter to the Architect of the Capitol, recommended that the annual Capitol Holiday Tree, as it has been called the past several years, be renamed the Capitol Christmas Tree.
"I strongly urge that we return to this tradition and join the White House, countless other public institutions and millions of American families in celebrating the holiday season with a Christmas tree," Hastert wrote to Architect Alan Hantman.

FOX News Aiding Christmas Foes
November 30, 2005
If FOX News doesn't stop aiding the liberal secularist attacks on Christmas, RealTeen at StopTheACLU plans to launch a boycott of FOX News beginning Saturday.
Since other blogs are getting on-board, I will make an official announcement Saturday Night at 7:30 EST calling for a boycott if FOX News doesn't change this. We specifically want the words "Holiday Ornament" and “Holiday Tree” changed in the description to "Christmas Ornament" and "Christmas Tree".
I am hereby announcing my intent to launch a massive e-mail campaign against FOX News. The only reason I’m not calling for a boycott of their network immediately is because I already don’t watch the other networks, and I do need some news to watch on TV.
Because of this, and I’m calling for other blogs covering the War on Christmas to join me, I’m starting an e-mail campaign towards FOX, and unless things change, I will call for a boycott of their network Saturday Night. While I understand I don't have the necessary readership or support to influence such a campaign, I am hoping other conservatives pick up on this. We cannot abandon our principles just because FOX is the only non-liberal Cable News Station.
[FOX News Holiday Hypocrisy - StopACLU - 11-30-05]
Buy war bonds. The War On Christmas just drank a soda pop! RealTeen was responding to a post earlier today from Media Matters.
Despite O'Reilly's specific criticism of those who use the term "holiday tree" instead of "Christmas tree," an O'Reilly Factor ornament for sale at the Fox News store features this tagline: "Put your holiday tree in 'The No Spin Zone' with this silver glass 'O'Reilly Factor' ornament."

[We’ll Give Fox 72 Hours - RightOnTheRight - 12-01-05]
Real Teen is lobbying bloggers to call for a boycott of the Fox News Channel if they don't change the wording from holiday tree and holiday ornament to Christmas tree and Christmas ornament. The boycott will start on Saturday, December 3, 2005 at 1930 EDT.

National Strategy for Victory in the War On Christmas
November 30, 2005
Not to be out-done by President Bush's unveiling of a National Strategy For Victory in Iraq, Rev. Jerry Falwell launched his own victory strategy in a much more important war where America is divided into friends or foes: The War On Christmas. View the strategy here (pdf).
Furthermore, I am calling on pastors, churches and individuals to join Liberty Counsel’s "Friend or Foe Christmas Campaign" by purchasing ads in newspapers across the country.
We need to draw a line in the sand and resist bullying tactics by the American Civil Liberties Union, Americans United for the Separation of Church and State, the American Atheists and other leftist organizations that intimidate school and government officials by spreading misinformation about Christmas.

The War on Christmas
November 29, 2005
Every year, the liberals re-launch their war on Christmas. It starts with demands that America worship Pagan trees with decorations and gift giving on the very same day the Lord Jesus was born. Then, it advances to their silence as the rest of us sing "Jingle Bells." Why, they should be thanking Jesus for being born!
O'REILLY: What's happened is frightening. A legal assault by the ACLU [American Civil Liberties Union] combined with the media that blatantly promotes secularism has succeeded in convincing some Americans that the words 'Merry Christmas' are inappropriate while celebrating the national holiday of Christmas.
This, of course, is nuts. Anyone offended by the words 'Merry Christmas' has problems not even St. Nicholas could solve.
Every company in America should be on its knees thanking Jesus for being born. Without Christmas, most American businesses would be far less profitable; more than enough reason for businesses to be screaming Merry Christmas.
