Heterosexual Agenda

July 13, 2006

First, they teach our pre-school children with stories like Cinderella and Snow White that it's OK for boys and girls to explore heterosexual attraction and to kiss each other. Then they act on their own desires with our children. Today's examples from local headlines is a disturbing trend in heterosexuals sexualizing our children before the gays can legally do it themselves.

Wilson County

A former employee of a facility for troubled teens in Wilson County is accused of picking up two young men in Lebanon in mid-June, bringing them back to her workplace, and letting them have sex with two 15-year-old female residents. All three adults were indicted by the Wilson County Grand Jury on Wednesday and were wanted by Lebanon Police.

Warren County
Pamela Rogers, the former elementary school teacher accused of sending sexually explicit images of herself to a male teen she'd had sex with, has been indicted on additional charges stemming from her communications with the boy, court records show.

Rogers, 28, who pleaded no contest in 2005 to charges that she had a sexual affair with the student, has been indicted on four counts of sexual solicitation of a minor, related to events that prosecutors say occurred while she was on probation for the first offense.

Democratic 'Eye-Rolling' Strategy

April 04, 2006

How can Democratic leaders steal the "limelight" away from the disgraceful hooliganism of Rep. Cynthia McKinney and place it back on the American people's agenda? Democratic leaders have a choice: 1) they can sit back and engage in the "eye-rolling" strategy and wonder why the media doesn't enjoy boring policy agenda press conferences, or 2) they can hold press conferences distancing themselves from Rep. McKinney's preposterous behavior and then talk about the issues that matter.

Now, with McKinney facing a possible arrest warrant, the media frenzy is set only to escalate. The U.S. Capitol Police referred the issue to the U.S. District Attorney’s office for prosecution yesterday.

All of the attention has some Democrats concerned that McKinney is drawing the limelight away from their policy goals and Republicans’ ethical missteps to focus on a momentary, disputed encounter in a Capitol Hill hallway.

“There’s been a lot of eye-rolling,” said an aide to a moderate Democrat who spoke on condition of anonymity. “The national attention it’s been getting has been unfortunate. It’s becoming a distraction.”

The president is "very disturbed."

WALLACE: ... on that, sir? Excuse me. The president, as you say, talks about building democratic institutions. Does he view the U.S. military paying to plant stories in Iraqi newspapers as undermining a free and independent press?

HADLEY: The president was very disturbed about those reports. One of the reasons we are in Iraq is to help the Iraqis establish the institutions of democracy and freedom, and one of those, of course, is a free press and a free media. And so those reports are very troubling.

The Pentagon is looking into them. To the extent that kind of behavior is inconsistent with our policy, it will be stopped. Our policy is support a free media and get out truth, truth to Iraqis, truth to the American people about what is going on in Iraq.

WALLACE: So you're saying that there is going to be no more paying to plant stories in the Iraqi media.

HADLEY: They're investigating it. We need to know the facts. I've talked to Secretary Rumsfeld. He needs to know the facts. We don't at this point, but I think the policy of where we want to go -- the support for a free media, for truth about what's going on in Iraq -- that is the policy.

WALLACE: And does the president view these reports as inconsistent with that policy?

HADLEY: Yes. It's very troubling. And if it turns out to be true, I think you'll find that activity stopped.

Operation Propaganda

December 03, 2005

The Pentagon has to pay Iraqi journalists to tell the story of those sacrificing their lives for Iraqi freedom? What an impression.

Lincoln Group officials would not discuss specifics of the contract. Laurie Adler, a spokeswoman for the company, said yesterday that Lincoln Group has been promoting truthful reporting across Iraq.

"We counter the lies, intimidation, and pure evil of terror with factual stories that highlight the heroism and sacrifice of the Iraqi people and their struggle for freedom and security," Adler said in a written statement. "We are encouraged by their sacrifice and proud to help them tell their side of the story."

Sen. John Warner (R-VA) left the Pentagon Friday a "building" without all the facts on their own operations.

Now, the building, as of an hour ago when I was there, is still trying to obtain the facts. They do not have all the facts at this time. But I was assured that General Casey, hopefully within the 24- or 48-hour period, would be putting out another body of fact to give further clarification of what did go contrary, should we say, to the traditions of journalism and what didn't.

Christian Bailey

December 02, 2005

After Bailey's latest $100 million dollar defense contract to place paid news stories in Iraqi media, he might be right. The question is, how was this defense contract steered to this young Republican fundraiser?

Bailey was a founder and active participant in Lead21, a fund-raising and networking operation for affluent young Republicans, some of whom have gone on to serve in the Bush administration. Click on the links to Lead21's site today and no mention of Bailey is to be found. But on a subscriber business and social networking site, there's an archived e-mail of Bailey discussing setting up a New York branch of Lead21, and his "personal network," which lists a half-dozen members of the organization's current board, including the chairman of the California Republican Party and the senior policy adviser to the Justice Department's chief information officer. "These are going to be the big supporters, the big donors to the Republican Party in five years' time," Bailey told The New York Times in an Aug. 31, 2004, video interview during a Lead21 party at the Republican convention in New York.
[What's Lincoln Group? - GOVEXEC.com - 12-01-05]

The first contract for the Lincoln Group, then known as Iraqex, was for PR work that prevented the American people from seeing American soldiers return home in caskets.

"The PR firm must coordinate the movement of the remains back to the U.S., and is responsible for notification of next of kin," the contract states.

Despite the dangers, a PR firm has stepped up to the plate.

"A Washington, D.C.-based entity called Iraqex got the contract," Kevin McCauley, editor of odwyerpr.com, tells The Beltway Beat. "Iraqex says it is wired into the Iraqi media, claiming contacts with 300 to 400 reporters.

"The contract is a blockbuster - in terms of dollars - for PR," he adds. "It is worth $5.5 million for the first year and totals $17.7 million with the three six-month option periods. Those are big numbers, even if one is operating in a war zone."
[Inside Track - John McCaslin - 10-08-04]

Being "wired into the Iraqi media" would later pay off with a $100 million dollar deal "to help develop materials for psychological operations in Iraq and elsewhere." Elsewhere?

Pentagon INFO OPS Plant Paid 'Good News Stories'

December 01, 2005

If this is true, I find it hard to believe the Pentagon couldn't find at least one real Iraqi citizen who believes what they had to pay someone to write.

"Western press and frequently those self-styled 'objective' observers of Iraq are often critics of how we, the people of Iraq, are proceeding down the path in determining what is best for our nation," the article began. Quoting the Prophet Muhammad, it pleaded for unity and nonviolence.

But far from being the heartfelt opinion of an Iraqi writer, as its language implied, the article was prepared by the United States military as part of a multimillion-dollar covert campaign to plant paid propaganda in the Iraqi news media and pay friendly Iraqi journalists monthly stipends, military contractors and officials said.

National Strategy for Victory in the War On Christmas

November 30, 2005

Not to be out-done by President Bush's unveiling of a National Strategy For Victory in Iraq, Rev. Jerry Falwell launched his own victory strategy in a much more important war where America is divided into friends or foes: The War On Christmas. View the strategy here (pdf).

Furthermore, I am calling on pastors, churches and individuals to join Liberty Counsel’s "Friend or Foe Christmas Campaign" by purchasing ads in newspapers across the country.

We need to draw a line in the sand and resist bullying tactics by the American Civil Liberties Union, Americans United for the Separation of Church and State, the American Atheists and other leftist organizations that intimidate school and government officials by spreading misinformation about Christmas.
