I’m putting the Morning Browser on hold as I implement a few changes. I’m not sure how long it will be, but I’ll share more shortly.

Experimenting with live video and production over the past year through the Morning Browser has been very rewarding for me personally. I’ve enjoyed getting up an hour early before work to host the experience weekdays.

Professionally, the experiment has led to WKRN-TV’s use of the platform over the past few days using webcams and cell phones to take you live into places that before would have required a significant amount of station resources.

The difference between a live and on-demand audience is also revealing. During the Morning Browser live, I may have a hand full of close friends hang out with me as I record, but when I edit and post the video I generated over 1,000,000 video views on YouTube in just one year. That’s almost 20 times the audience that WKRN’s top 10 video views generated for the entire year of 2009.
