Handcrafted treasures made with love in Tennessee

srcfblogoYesterday I opened the virtual doors of a project I’ve been working on for a while called Stones River Company. It’s the first project of many to come, but it’s also a labor of love I hope fills every nook and cranny of my time.

I’ve met a few amazing artists in Tennessee and am fortunate to be working with three people dedicated to their craft and creating works of art.

  • Tom Fuhrman is moving his glass shop soon to Oak Ridge. I’ll visit him shortly before and after the move and bring you video from his new place once he’s all set up.
  • Jack Martin will soon plant his first crop of broom corn. I told him to call me when he does so I can show you where his amazing brooms begin.
  • Carrie Nunes just ordered some more chain for the pendants she’s created just for us.

I can’t wait to discover more artists. I’m really eager to find anyone making white oak baskets around Woodbury. There’s a wonderful story there, and the more I speak with folks down there the more intrigued I become.

The thought of hanging out with quilters for a day and video taping their stories really appeals to me. I hear a lot of quilter groups sell their quilts to benefit charities, and I’d love to see if there’s a way I can help. If you can help me out on either of those things, that would be swell.
