Just  a short update on a couple of things.

1. CNN will not be offered on the news channel as I previously posted. I found out that YouTube blocks all U.S. viewers from seeing CNN’s content. I guess the cable news distribution model doesn’t work with the reality of U.S. residents increasing preference for getting their news online. Ignoring your audience’s media consumption habits worked really well for the recording industry. Now tech companies own distribution of their content after forcing an old industrial distribution model into an early retirement.
    
2. Phil came by last night with Neil and Ali for some dinner and catching up with old friends. I’ll try to post some video if we weren’t too drunk.
     
3. The girls are getting better with the potty training. Mimi is emerging as a little devil dog. Trudy is an instigator. It’s as though she knows Mimi is a formidible challenge but just small enough to never really hurt her.

Mimi is smaller than her sister and they never finish eating at the same time. I’m trying to teach Trudy not to eat Mimi’s food. This video shows why. Mimi growls and snaps at Trudy as her bigger sister tries to muscle her way into Mimi’s bowl.

Just a few minutes ago I heard tiny howls coming from down stairs. I’m trying not to reward that behavior with attention, so I slowly peaked over the upstairs banister and saw little Mimi’s jowls puckered up in a tiny “O” just howling. I shot this video earlier today of Mimi exercising her newly found bark as she meets Saphy Waffy Babowski.

I took Mimi and Trudy to the vet this morning for their third round of shots. Trudy weighs in at little over 3 pounds. Mimi is a little over 2 pounds. I learned from the doctor that Mimi has a health issue. He said there is a 40% chance that her soft spot on her skull would completely heal. That means either she’ll have to walk around with a chihuahua sized helmet on, or we’ll have to baby her for the rest of her life. We’ll know more when she’s about 4 months old.

I peaked out the peep hole not knowing who would be ringing the doorbell this early. It was a little girl on a bicycle with a bag in her hand.

“Here’s your cookie dough,” She said handing me the bag. I vaguely remember Vince telling me he had bought it as part of some school fundraiser.

Vince made these cookies for the Christmas party. An hour earlier we weren’t sure we were going. I had called Mike with regrets. Noah was staying with us through Monday while they work on the vocals for his new album. I didn’t want to impose, but Mike was very kind and said to bring him along. So we did.

I buy Christmas cards every year. There is something magical about getting a card in the mail, and it’s easy to do. So why the cards end up in a growing collection of cards that are never sent keeps me staring blankly into the foggy mirror of life.

Anyways, I tried to get a few out this year. Some made it, and some didn’t. Merry Christmas.

I’m a very bad daddy. Last night, while I was holding Trudy in the bathroom, she wiggled a bit, and I dropped her. We have solid concrete floors, so she literally went splat on the floor! Both Vince and I were stunned. She started yelping and hollering, and I immediately held her in place comforting her thinking we were about to have to go to the vet.

Vince scolded me good. Luckily, she quieted down and then started running around again. We watched her for a bit after that, and it was as though it never happened.
