Glenn Beck had a ”phenomenally bad” experience at an unamed hospital and said he might name names upon his return to TV and radio on Monday.
Headline News’ Glenn Beck talks about his recent botched surgery, rails against the hospital where he was treated, launches into the Presidential campaign and a lack of compassion then talks about how he became “full fledged suicidal.” [Beck Surgery Goes “Horribly Awry” - mediabistro - 01-04-07]
“I had one of the darkest experienc.es of my life. May not has been as dark as, um, what will happen to me in the future when I see this tape on YouTube, Youtube, and I, I could have shaved. Um, I had one of the darker moments of my life, and I, you know I’ve had pretty dark times. And, um, it’s the only time in my life that I have had moments that could have come out of the movie Saw. Um, uh, the things that were going on in my head, um, and much of them drug induced, uh, with the medication they had me on in the hospital which was - I mean I just got off the phone with my doctor and he said you know you’re still on X,Y and Z, and I said, ‘no, that stuff spooks me too much.’ And he said, ‘well you’re on a combination of just about everything.’ He said, ‘you got just about everything that we have, uh, for pain.’ And, uh, I said, ‘yeah, I know, I’m trying to live without it now. Uh, but this stuff took me into places that, uh, my, uh, started on Thursday and by, by uh, uh Saturday night I was full fledged sucidal.” [YOUTUBE - Beck From the Dead - 01-04-07]
TIME didn’t provide the total number of views, but you can see that #10 on their own list was more viral than the two above it. Why is # 8 and #9 even on the list? WALK IT OUT has more views.
CNN will not be offered on the news channel as I previously posted. I found out that YouTube blocks all U.S. viewers from seeing CNN’s content. I guess the cable news distribution model doesn’t work with the reality of U.S. residents increasing preference for getting their news online. Ignoring your audience’s media consumption habits worked really well for the recording industry. Now tech companies own distribution of their content after forcing an old industrial distribution model into an early retirement.
Phil came by last night with Neil and Ali for some dinner and catching up with old friends. I’ll try to post some video if we weren’t too drunk.
The girls are getting better with the potty training. Mimi is emerging as a little devil dog. Trudy is an instigator. It’s as though she knows Mimi is a formidible challenge but just small enough to never really hurt her.
(News tab) Today’s First Look from CBS was done by Assignment America correspondent Steve Hartman who keeps it very real and literally answers his phone around :30 seconds into the video. Don’t you want to watch his segment and then go have a beer with Steve? I wish Bob would call Katie Couric in the middle of her Notebook segment. Gaaaaaahhhhh.
UPDATE 5:02p.m. - A few minutes ago, someone at CBS removed Katie Couric’s Notebook segment for today from their YouTube channel.
UPDATE 6:02p.m. - Just as I imagined my last minute Christmas shopping this weekend without seeing Couric’s Notebook segment over and over on the YouTube, it’s back. There is a Santa! Woot!
Chris Dinan filled in for Katie Couric on today’s First Look. These are posted under the ‘News” tab above to give you a preview of the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric. At about :40 secs into today’s video posted minutes ago, Dinan mentions the Campaign Notebook segment while vigorously adjusting something between his legs.
I added a new channel featuring news. Click the “News” tab above. I’m currently aggregating from CBS, Rueters and PoliticoPlaybook. I’ll add other news video sources as they become available. Enjoy!
UPDATE 12-21-07 7:51am - I added CNN, FOX, and Sky News to the news channel. CNN is having some issues this morning, but now you can catch the latest from all these news sources.
I had the kosher weinerburger for lunch, and then swung by CMT with the Brad to catch up with his good friend John Rich of Big & Rich. John has a reality TV show coming up on CMT called Gone Country. In it, a few stars come to Nashville to try their hand at a career in country music.
Here is some video I shot where John talks about Bobby Brown urinating on Dee Snider. He also shows us his #1 selling t-shirt with a phrase his grandfather use to say.
