Charles MacKay wrote in Extraordinary Popular Delusions & the Madness of Crowds (1852): “Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly and one by one.”
Yesterday I created the group Twitter Must Die on Facebook. People have to stand up to this service gobbling up people’s minds like a cyberspace mind gobbler or something. Everyday, like maybe 100 people become addicts to tweeting like twits on the internets using the Twitter.
After watching [kicks] David Lynch express his feelings about watching movies on the iPhone I was inspired to finally speak my mind in this video.

Here’s a video of Mimi chewing some chicken jerky today. We took both her and Trudy out for walks in the yard, and one of our neighbor’s unleashed dogs ran into our yard. It looks like they brought the dog back home recently and are still having the same problems understanding why there are laws requiring you to control your animals. I’ve given them several chances and have told them I didn’t ever want to see their dogs on my property again. I’m hoping I won’t start having the same problems with them over this issue, but expect some drama in the months ahead.

Here is a live webcam view into the studio space I’m setting up in the media room upstairs. I’ll put this in a better location later and place the live camera on the sidebar. You might see me and some friends later taping something in response to a [kicks] David Lynch screed against iPhone that Brittney Gilbert posted on her YouTube channel.
You can refresh the page to see the latest image, but I’d prefer you click the image which takes you to a cleaner page for now. If you’ve been with this website since 1999, you might be surprised to know the camera I’m using is the same one from way back then!

UPDATE 6:02pm - Neil couldn’t make it and was going to bring a mic stand. The lights didn’t arrive anyway. Vince and I are headed to Franklin for sushi and may pick a stand up there, so I might try to tape this tomorrow using the crappy lights. We’ll see.

Drudge Report headlined Kerry’s endorsement of Obama with a photo of Hillary captioned “Lady Denied!” It would have been far more appropriate for Drudge to feature Kerry’s former running mate John Edwards with “Dude Denied,” but like Kerry, Drudge might have forgotten all about 2004.
All I could think of yesterday as I saw John Kerry abandon his former running mate for Obama was what a kiss of death Kerry delivered for the whole world to see.

Last night, Vince let me order a light kit for the studio I’m setting up in the media room. The green screen is already hung and in place. Last weekend we made a silly test video using the green screen with Vince talking about little shirts and several bags of different doggie treats he’s gone through so far with Mimi and Trudy.
My biggest challenge with our new HD video camera is that it really needs a lot of good lighting. To shoot the test video, I literally had to open all the windows and use a powerful hallogen flood and four other lamps. You can see it still wasn’t enough. I’ll post some pictures of where the studio is being set up later tonight.
Once the lights come in, one of the first things I want to shoot is Mimi and Trudy spending time with us in the evening. It’s pretty much the only time we have with them through the week, and seeing them fall asleep on Vince is the cutest thing ever.

As NBC called the New Hampshire primary in favor of Hillary Clinton last night, NBC’s Tim Russert and Brian Williams immediately began talking about some “cataclysmic shift” in voter opinion that “must have occured” in the last day or two. It was as though the picture the media painted was challenged by a different reality and the only explaination was that reality had changed.
Has it ever occurred to Russert and Williams that reality for the people of New Hampshire had not changed and that the media’s exuberance over Iowa caucus victories and confidence in polls was wrong?

Vince found a treat Mimi and Trudy respond to. The only problem is we had to go through about 5 different brands. While he was out Friday, he picked up a couple of shirts for the girls. They’ve been running around naked since Christmas.
I shot this using a green screen for the first time, so this was a good test. I clearly need to get way better lighting.
