10 years and counting

December 29th, 2009 Christian Grantham No comments

Today is the 10 year anniversary of my blog. On today’s Morning Browser, I talked a lot about what I was thinking on this day in 1999 and what came to pass. I spoke a lot about the opportunities that came from my website and the opportunities I see ahead.

I don’t know where to begin in reflecting back, but I do want to let you know you can see archives of my website thanks to Archive.org’s WayBackMachine.

Looking back on some of the older post was such a trip! Today I found a journal called “Eat” that was nothing more than a daily photograph of the inside of my fridge at 1659 Harvard Street in Washington, D.C. In many ways, the website was a creative outlet for what i could do with available technology.

I cut a lot of the hour out of the 5 minute clip you see here. I left out the back story of how the site came to be. I left out the ups and the downs, and instead I focused on the most important lesson I’ve learned. You have the power to cultivate your future opportunities. You don’t have to wait for the world. Own the version of you that most people will come to know, and most people who like what they see will help you see your next opportunity.

There area handful of important people in my life who saw me through this and saw a value in what I could do with them. They opened worlds of opportunity to me. For those few people I am very grateful today.

I wish I had more time to write something profound and reflective, but I have to run to work now. Here’s to the opportunities in 2010. ;)

UPDATE: 10:13am: Newscoma is celebrating her blog’s 4th anniversary today, too. Happy blogiversary, Trace ;)
