Yesterday, (April 10, 2009) tornadoes and severe storms blew through the Middle Tennessee area changing many people’s lives forever. There were several reported tornadoes, but the one that passed through Murfreesboro took two people’s lives and destroyed several homes.

My sister and her family had been out shopping and had no idea they were about to intersect the path of the deadly tornado. Caught in the storm, they quickly drove to her father-in-law’s house where they were seconds from the tornado passing directly over them. They only had enough time to run with their children to a neighbor’s carport and pray for a miracle. That’s just what they got as in a matter of seconds the force of the tornado snapped trees around them and destroyed homes several yards away.
